This plant is known as Mitragyna Speciosa— a medium to large tree and or shrub native to Southeast Asia— and is a part of the same genome family as the Coffee Plant— in fact it pairs very well with coffee, and or tea. The Mitragyna Speciosa has uplifting and slight stimulant / mood lifting effects at smaller doses, and sedative and relaxation effects in medium to higher doses. The plant also works on chronic pain and anxiety, without any risk of suppressing breathing or slowing heart rate— like with the commonly prescribed chemical alternatives— which makes it a fantastic, and healthier alternative to painkillers for chronic pain. It is also known to have mood enhancing, and even slightly euphoric properties. Our plants are not cultivated and grown, but grow wild, and are harvested on the Hulu Kapuas River in Borneo. Like the camellia sinensis plant— with older Mitragyna Speciosa trees, have more alkaloids and minerals present in the leaf, as the roots go deeper into the earth and interact more with the terroir and surrounding biodiversity. This plant has a spirit of its own, and if respected, and used properly, it can be of great benefit to those who use it.
Medium/ High: 2-3.5g — best consumed over the course of an hour and a half or so.
More is not always better with this medicine!! Though Mitragyna Speciosa doesn’t carry a risk of toxicity and overdose in its natural leaf form, it can make you nauseous if you consume too much, so sticking to lower doses is best while you learn your bodies relationship with the plant.
