Harvested Spring 2021, in the first three days of March, this is a Rare Black Tea yielded from the varietal Camellia Taliensis, from Lincang, from old trees in Yunnan Province. Capturing the senses, our Golden Light is a mostly oxidized bud, and small leaf pick— that starts with a gentle sweetness, hints of light malt, and finishes with light charcoal/ graham cracker, dark chocolate and honey— with moderate to high caffeine, and strong cha qi. Ladder’s are used to take the early pickings from very high off the old trees, after which, the tea master takes charge, who has been producing this tea for over 50 years, and refined the level of skill in doing so.
